Entry-level IT jobs: what is realistic without experience

Entry level on this page means the automatic Entry Bar Check found no degree and no stated number of years of experience among the ad’s must-haves. A certification may still be required, which is why both Low and Cert required listings appear here. The check reads only what the ad states and hasn’t been reviewed by an editor yet, so read the full ad before you apply.

For context, the BLS reports a median annual wage of $61,860 for computer user support specialists in May 2025, across all experience levels. A quarter of them earned less than $49,000 (BLS, OEWS). The BLS says these jobs “require some computer knowledge but not necessarily a college degree”.
