Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy explains what personal data itjobs.info processes when you use the site or contact us, why, and what rights you have. In short: we have no user accounts or forms, and beyond what a web server needs to deliver a page, we only use analytics if you accept them in the banner.

Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Mussie Haile, trading as Guiding Ventures
Lohmühlenstraße 65, 12435 Berlin, Germany
Phone: +49 176 87053245
Email: admin@guidingventures.com

Hosting and request logs

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). Every request to the site is processed by Cloudflare. That includes your IP address, the URL you requested, the time of the request, your browser's user agent and the referring page.

We need this to deliver the site to you, to protect it against misuse and to keep it running. Request logs are turned on and Cloudflare keeps them for no more than 7 days.

Cloudflare serves each request from the data centre closest to you, which may be outside the EU.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the site and keeping it working and protected.

Cookies, analytics and your consent

We use no ads, no tracking pixels and no embedded content from other services, and fonts are served from this site. With your consent only, we use the analytics services below to count visits and see which pages help job seekers. Nothing from them loads until you click “Accept” in the banner. If you click “Reject” or make no choice, they don't run.

Legal basis: your consent, under § 25 (1) TDDDG for storing or reading information on your device, and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR for the processing. You can withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future, under “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page. We then remove the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

Your choice itself is saved in your browser's local storage under the key itjobs-consent, so we don't ask on every page. It holds only which categories you accepted and when. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). We ask again after about 12 months, or when we change the list of services.

Google Analytics

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA. After you accept, your browser loads Google's script from googletagmanager.com, which sets the cookies _ga (distinguishes browsers) and _ga_<ID> (keeps the session), each for 2 years, and sends page views and device information to Google. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned Google signals and advertising features off in the code. Event data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics property, 2 months. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).

Job listings database

Job listings are stored in a database run by Supabase, Inc. (USA), hosted in the AWS region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany). The database holds job listings only, not data about visitors.

Listings come from the Adzuna API (Adzuna Ltd, UK) and from employers who email us. They are business information from third parties. Some may include the name or contact details of an employer's contact person, as published in the original ad.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is showing public job ads to job seekers.

Links to other sites

"Apply" buttons and other outbound links take you to Adzuna's site or the employer's site. Once you click, that site's own privacy policy applies. We receive nothing back from those sites about you or your application.

Contacting us by email

If you email us at admin@guidingventures.com, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. This includes employers who ask us to set up a listing.

Our email is handled by Google Workspace, provided by Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC (USA).

We use your email only to answer it. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract or steps before one (for example, a listing request), otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is answering the messages we receive.

You don't have to email us to use the site. If you do, we need your email address to reply.

Recipients and transfers outside the EU

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): hosting and request logs. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR). Its data processing agreement with Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR) is part of its terms.
  • Supabase, Inc. (USA): job listings database, stored in Frankfurt, Germany. It holds no visitor data.
  • Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC (USA): email (Google Workspace), and Google Analytics with your consent. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), and Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR) apply.

How long we keep data

  • Request logs: no more than 7 days, then deleted by Cloudflare.
  • Emails: deleted once the matter is done, unless commercial or tax retention periods (German Commercial Code, HGB, and Fiscal Code, AO) require us to keep them. In that case we keep them until the period ends.
  • Your consent choice: in your browser until you change it, at most about 12 months.
  • Google Analytics: cookies up to 2 years in your browser (removed when you withdraw consent here); event data 2 months at Google.
  • Job listings: for as long as we show the job ad. You can ask us to remove a listing or the contact details in it at any time.

No automated decisions about people

We make no automated decisions about people within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. The Entry Bar Check reads the text of a job ad and labels its requirements. It assesses job ads, not people, and uses no visitor data.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future, under “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

To use any of these rights, email admin@guidingventures.com.

Your right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interests), you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop processing your data unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

This applies to the request logs, to contact details in job listings and to emails we process on that basis. To object, email admin@guidingventures.com.

Right to complain

You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU country where you live or work, or where you think the breach happened. The authority responsible for us is:

Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Alt-Moabit 59–61
